Professional registration and regulation
Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin is fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK with a licence to practise since 1999 and has been on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry since 2013 (GMC number 4579557). He is subject to medical revalidation every five years with the GMC and was last revalidated in 2026. He also undertakes annual appraisals with his CQC-registered NHS trust employer.

He has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) since 2009 and completes at least 50 hours of continuous professional development (CPD) each year to maintain and develop his professional and clinical knowledge and skills. Background, training, skills and experience
Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin has been a British medical doctor and NHS psychiatrist for over 25 years and a private consultant psychiatrist for over 16 years. He practises evidence-based medicine and psychiatry and, as an online psychiatrist, has assessed and treated many private patients throughout the UK via online video consultation. Born, bred and educated in London, he graduated from University College London (UCL) Medical School in 1999. Since 2000, he has trained and worked full-time as an NHS psychiatrist in Luton and Bedfordshire. He has worked part-time for East London NHS Foundation Trust (rated Outstanding by the CQC) since 2016 and has been a consultant psychiatrist (general adult psychiatry) and psychotherapist since 2008. He has successfully treated private patients since 2007.

He has extensive experience in assessing and providing evidence-based treatment for adult patients with ADHD, addictions, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, psychosis, PTSD, OCD and personality disorder. His special interests include adult ADHD psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy, supported by further specialist training in adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis and management, management of drug misuse, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and human-given therapy. Appreciating the mind-body link, he uses mental health therapy and medication only when needed, in combination for the safe and timely recovery of his patients. He is also experienced in preparing GP reports and independent expert psychiatric reports for the courts, solicitors, occupational health departments, private companies and private patients. Whilst English is his first language, he can also speak and understand Bangla (Standard Bengali).

Publications and media
Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin contributed to the Daily Mail Online Health article published on 10th August 2017 titled, "Are YOU drinking too much? Answer these 10 questions to find out: Experts reveal the classic warning signs you've become dependent on booze." He was also involved in the BBC Northern Ireland documentary "Life and Death on Heroin", broadcast in March 2019, which explored the realities of heroin addiction, its successful acute treatment, and long-term recovery.

Voluntary roles
Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin is the clinical consultant supervisor and a trustee for the charity Reclaim Life in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. The charity provides five free life coaching sessions based on the Human Givens approach to recovery. All life coaches are volunteers who receive training and monthly supervision under his guidance and support, a role he has held since 2014.

Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin is recognised by CIGNA, PruHealth, and the Western Provident Association (WPA) as a private healthcare provider. Patients are encouraged to discuss private referral and treatment with their insurance provider, and support is available throughout the process. The majority of private patients are self-referring and self-funding.
